With an impressive 46 years in the medical field, Alison's journey began at the age of 15 as a certified nurse assistant. Graduating high school early, she went on to earn her RN by the age of 20 and completed her Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in Biology, Psychology and pre-med didactics for her future entrance into Anesthesia School.  Balancing the demands of motherhood with her education, Alison entered Anesthesia school in 1989 while raising two children under 5. Her extensive experience spans various critical care environments, including surgical intensive care unit, neuro ICU, recovery room, Acute Hemodialysis, biomedical support services, nuclear medicine and the cardiac cath lab.

After graduating from Anesthesia school, Alison began her career in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, collaborating with transplant surgeons and mastering techniques such as ocular nerve blocks and a wide range of general anesthetic procedures. Her career took her to Washington University in St. Louis, where she joined the liver and renal transplant team and worked in all areas of the OR and hospital to include the connection with Barnes-Jewish Children’s Hospital where she performed IV sedation on children with cerebral venous malformations.

In 1999, Alison transitioned to outpatient procedures, to include the O’Donnel Eye Institute, corneal transplants, retinal artery repairs, Pediatric gastroenterology, Plastics, Gynecology and the Breast Cancer Center following patients all the way from needle localization to full reconstructive surgeries. As Botox entered the market in 2000, Alison and her colleagues began performing cosmetic injections, gaining valuable experience and knowledge in aesthetic applications. Over the next 25 years, she honed her skills as an injector, working closely with plastic surgeons and mastering various techniques. She became an Advanced Master injector in 2016.

In 2009, Alison was trained and certified by Allergan with an oculoplastic surgeon in Scottsdale, Arizona. She opened her own Med spa in 2009, which has flourished under her expertise and passion for aesthetics. She has continued her education and professional development as a nurse anesthesiologist, remaining dedicated to her profession and is a board of director with the Hawaii Association of Nurse Anesthesiologist.

Alison is affiliated with all the leading cosmetic brands such as Allergan,Revance, Merz and Evolus. She holds Advanced practice nurse status in Hawaii along with prescriptive authority. Collaborating with a medical director who is a surgeon, she ensures the highest standards of care for her clients. She is the Master injector at Bella Dia, and Skin by Women and her own personal space at Spavana. She makes herself available to these locations and medically directs all of them.

Beyond her medical expertise, Alison is also an artist, with a love for painting and sculpting, particularly faces. Her artistic eye enhances her approach to aesthetics, allowing her to create personalized solutions for each client. Known for her direct and honest communication style, Alison prioritizes understanding her clients' concerns while providing realistic expectations about their results.

With over three decades of experience in the wellness and beauty industry, Chiamarra Dia Battilla is a force of nature—blending clinical mastery, artistic expression, and deep-rooted compassion into every aspect of her work. As the founder of Bella Dia Spa and a collaborator with SpaVana, Dia creates spaces where holistic healing, advanced aesthetics, and the spirit of aloha intersect.

Dia began her formal education in Massage, Wellness, and Esthiology at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, later expanding her expertise through massage therapy and lymphatic drainage studies at East West College of the Healing Arts. Licensed in both Oregon and Hawaii, she rose to prominence as a Global Spa Educator for Aveda, where she opened luxury spas and wellness institutes around the world, training professionals in integrative skincare, Ayurvedic principles, and spa development.

In 2002, Dia transitioned into medical aesthetics as a trainer and mentor in laser esthetics, specializing in hair removal, vascular lesion treatment, and facial rejuvenation—bridging the gap between clinical skincare and holistic wellness.

Her creative talents shine through her 10-year tenure as a professional makeup artist for both the Portland Opera and Seattle Opera, where she brought dramatic transformations to life through her mastery of stage and theatrical makeup. Her refined eye for detail and facial harmony continues to shape her cosmetic artistry and custom treatment design.

Beyond the spa, Dia’s life is equally remarkable. She worked for a decade alongside the late Dr. Scott Sims, Hawaii’s legendary "barefoot vet," as a surgical technician focused on avian and equine medicine, a role that led to her supporting role in National Geographic Wild’s “Aloha Vet” for two seasons. She has also served as an exotic avian trainer for stage and film, including work with Disney.

Dia holds a degree in Behavioral Science, empowering her with a deeply intuitive and empathetic approach to client and animal care alike.

A lifelong advocate for animals, Dia raises and rehabilitates miniature horses, Indian Runner ducks, Sulcata tortoises, and a vibrant family of rescued parrots, macaws, and cockatoos. Her home is a sanctuary of healing, feathered friendships, and joy.

Whether she’s crafting native Hawaiian spa rituals, teaching the next generation of estheticians, or leading advanced med spa treatments at SpaVana, Dia’s mission is always the same:
